Overview
The Customer area stores the main Customer record together with its locations and contacts.
Keeping these related records together makes it easier to find and maintain the complete Customer relationship.
Record structure
The Customer area is organised into three related record types:
- Customer
- The main organisation or individual record.
- Customer Site
- A physical, billing, shipping or operating location connected to the Customer.
- Customer Contact
- A person or general communication point associated with the Customer or Customer Site.
Customer
The Customer list is the starting point for locating and maintaining Customer records.
Open the Customer list
- Select Customer from the Primary Navigation.
- Select Account from the Sub-Navigation.
- The Customer list displays the records available to the user.
Find a Customer
- Use the Search box to enter all or part of the Customer name.
- Review the matching records.
- Select the required action beside the Customer record.
Add a Customer
- Select Add New from the Sub-Navigation.
- Enter the required Customer information.
- Select Save.
Customer Site
A Customer Site records a location connected to the Customer. A Customer may have one Site or several Sites.
Open Customer Sites
- Locate the required Customer.
- Select the Customer Site action for that record.
- The list of Sites connected to the Customer is displayed.
Add or update a Customer Site
- Select an existing Site or choose Add New.
- Enter or update the Site information.
- Select Save.
Customer Contact
Customer Contacts store people or general communication details associated with a Customer or Customer Site.
Open Customer Contacts
- Locate the required Customer.
- Select the Customer Contact action for that record.
- The list of Contacts connected to the Customer is displayed.
Add or update a Customer Contact
- Select an existing Contact or choose Add New.
- Enter or update the Contact information.
- Select Save.
Searching and working with lists

| Number of records | Shows how many records are included in the current list. |
| Results list | Displays the available or matching records. |
| Record actions | Provides the actions available for an individual record. |
Best practice
- Use a consistent Customer name throughout the application.
- Review existing records before adding a new Customer, Site or Contact.
- Create separate Sites when billing, shipping or operating locations differ.
- Associate Contacts with the correct Customer Site where applicable.
- Use the available status options rather than creating duplicate records.
